Basically, this class dealt with the details that go into creating a brand that the fans will be loyal to. A brand message that is true and authentic is one of the most effective tools that can be used to market your music.

Apart from the music and the music label, the artist on its own is also a brand. As such, the artist needs to be properly planned and treated as a brand identity. Music is just like any good product and needs a solid marketing strategy to put it in the market. Basically the focus of this was on how to create a marketing strategy for your music that works. It also buttressed on the importance of creating a plan, following that plan from ideation to creation and watching it work.

This class gave the students gems, tips and tricks on how to navigate social media as a marketing tool for an artist’s music. It also highlighted using the internet and its vast reach to your advantage. Social media helps you target the right people for your music and when done right, could bring in a massive audience for you. This was shared, and so much more.
