Afrobeats artiste, Burna Boy (born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu) has announced and released the track list for his new album, “Love, Damini”. This Friday, we are expecting a new album from the 31-year-old Grammy award-winning artist. However, the remarkable performances of the Port-Harcourt-born singer have earned him several accolades over the years. He has achieved several milestones that have earned him awards and recognition globally.
Burna Boy gained recognition in the Nigerian music industry after he released the track “Like to Party” from his debut album “L.I.F.E” (2013). He released his second album, “On a Spaceship” in 2015, and his third album, “Outside” was released in 2018 under the Bad habit/Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group. This aided in popularizing his international outlook. However, in the 2019 BET Awards, Burna boy won the Best International Act.
Not to mention “African Giant”, his 4th album released in July 2019 which won Album of the Year at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards. This goes to prove that, indeed, he is the African Giant as he self acclaims. Burna Boy released his fifth studio album, “Twice as Tall”, in August 2020. In 2021, Twice as Tall won the Best World Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

On July 2nd, 2022, Burna Boy shared the tracklist and artists featured on his new album. The album, “Love, Damini,” will be his 6th studio album and it features artists from various parts of the world. This includes; Khalid, J-Hus, Ed Sheeran, Victony, Kehlani, Popcaan, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, J. Balvin, and Blxst.
Although two tracks on the album have been released in anticipation, He has shared with his fans in the early hours of today on Twitter that he would be releasing teasers of the track list until the day the full project drops. With this in mind, it is no doubt that Burna boy has prepared another great project this time. It is only right we anticipate with our fingers crossed as we have seen how well “Last last” and “Kilometre” have performed since their release. Also, In preparation for the album release, He has also announced the Love, Damini summer 2022 tour.
Before his most recent announcement, Burna Boy had described his forthcoming album as a personal one that speaks of his journey so far as he shares on his Twitter page saying “Love, Damini is a personal body of work. It’s about the ups and downs, the growth, the L’s and W’s. I’m excited to share this journey and roll out with you all #LoveDamini #Burnaboy”.
