It seems like fans have had enough. Kizz Daniel, the “Buga ” singer, took to his Instagram to announce tour dates for Afro Classic Wave with 10 stops in the month of July. However, recently, there have been increasing complaints about his late appearances at shows, a trend that is rampant with most Nigerian artists.
Maybe the stress of going on tour had taken its toll on Kizz Daniel. But fans couldn’t be sure as no explanation was given. A disgruntled fan took to social media to complain about his recent show in Glasgow…
“We waited almost four hours and he performed for 40 minutes… dropped the mic after the first verse of Buga and walked off the stage…”
Finally, during his show in Silver Spring, Maryland, scheduled for July 7th, the singer’s audience not only booed while he was about to come on stage, but also asked for a refund of their money. It seemed like they had taken his own advice “collect your money” a little too literally. The diasporan audience claimed he was four hours late to his performance and they were not having it.
Shouts of “refund!” could be heard while Kizz Daniel was about to go on stage. The fans were upset enough to not want to see a performance from their favorite artist anymore.
Clearly, there are issues to be tackled concerning why Nigerian artists come late for shows. If anything, the fans felt like they deserved an explanation or an apology.
