Not long after Asake’s fans pleaded with him to take a breather, he has collaborated with the queen of Afrobeats to give us “Loaded”, yet another tune that is every bit as good as you’d expect a Tiwa Savage and Asake song to be.
Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, is one of the latest stars to come out of Olamide’s YBNL Nation. At just 27 years old, he has managed to charm his audience with his style of Afro-fusion, unlike anything Nigerians have seen in a while. From Sungba to Bandana to the Joha dance, it seemed like Asake took no breaks from the studio as he dropped hit after hit, after hit.
He also gave us a debut album, “Mr. Money With The Vibe.” This is an album that many argue has no bad songs, and I couldn’t agree more. And now we have yet another hit to bop to.
With no prior announcement, Asake and Tiwa Savage dropped the visuals to tease the new song. Announcing that both the audio and video of “Loaded” would drop at midnight on the 7th of November, 2022.
But knowing how quick Asake’s fans are to hop on a new release, the sudden announcement did not stop the song from quickly becoming the most anticipated release at the moment.
“Loaded” combines Tiwa’s edgy vocals with Asake’s every-present call-and-response choir in the background. And of course, you know an Asake song is not complete without the soulful violins. Also we get some Amapiano log drums, and when has that ever flopped? That, plus the video directed by TG Omori has been a pleasant surprise to the fans. It is apparent they just can’t get enough of Mr. Money’s vibe.
