THE MUSIC BUSINESS ACADEMY FOR AFRICA IS HERE AGAIN!

MUSIC BUSINESS ACADEMY FOR AFRICA IS BACK!

The Music Business Academy for Africa has returned for its second edition this year. Established in 2020 by Godwin Tom, Executive Director, iManage Africa. The platform seeks to develop a more informed and empowered African entertainment industry workforce. Powered by Youtube, the program will run from July to November 2022 under the leadership of Elizabeth Sobowale this year. The MBA is in partnership with Music Ally and Dr. Carlos Chirinos of the Music Business Department at New York University. In addition, iManage Africa is responsible for the development of this platform.

Initially, the MBA started as an internship scheme in 2017. The gap in music knowledge, therefore, informed its decision to evolve into a talent management training program and a music business education initiative. As an institution geared towards developing well-equipped music and entertainment executives, MBA Africa also encourages equality and women’s inclusiveness. This year, it also gave a 50% discount to active students across African universities and colleges. There is also a talent project for artists from 6 African countries this year.

We will build a more informed and empowered workforce for Africa’s Music and Entertainment Industries… one conversation at a time!
